STAGE 5 – 28KM

Ampondrafeta beach to Antafiamalama bay

One day before the last day of the ultramarathon, we are 20km away from Diego Suarez. For this stage 5, you run along the coastal track of Amber cape. The start line of the stage will be on the beach where you slept last night! After the rocky barrier passed, you will discover a paradise creek that nicknamed “Bakao Beach” during our recces. Then you will follow a 4x4 track along the coast. You will go one more time out of the beaten tracks for a great run inside the mangroves. Your last real effort for this ultramarathon will end in Antafiamalama bay. Camp is uphill, you will enjoy a beautiful view on the light-blue waters.

  • Floor: Laterite (70%) + Sand (30%)
  • Obstacles: Mud in the mangrove
  • Highlights:
    • Bakao Beach (km 2)
    • Ambodivaibe fishermen village (km 12)
    • The mangroves (km 24)
    • The incredibly white sand before the camp (km 27)
  • Afternoon: For this last day, you will enjoy a relative comfort with permanent buildings (Showers, refectory). After 5 days in the bush, it will be a transition before going back to the city tomorrow! We will take family pictures with all the runners and the staff. You can also swim and enjoy this last camp ambiance.
